My introduction to spirituality began at an early age, I was introduced to certain spiritual practices from my Father’s side of the family as a child. My Father is African American, and his side of the family originates from North Carolina. It is quite common, for many black families from the South, to carry with them, some elements of African American folk magic tradition, known as Rootwork or simply Workin’ Roots.
I have always continued to deepen my knowledge of Rootwork Tradition, for many years. Within that time, I have also done hundreds of Tarot Card readings for clients, with the same Tarot cards I inherited from my Dad.
My Mom is white, and always showed great love & appreciation for native cultures. When I was a child, she would take me to Native American festivals and Pow Wows to hear Cherokee storytellers, see native hoop dancers, hear Lakota flute players, experience Native American crafts and so much more. Those early influences, fostered a deep lasting love & connection with of Native American spirituality.
Throughout the years, I began to have many opportunities to train first hand, with indigenous Healers from around the world. I have studied healing techniques and ceremony with, healers & elders from the Lakota & Cherokee traditions, healers from Peru, Ecuador & Guatemala, Sangoma’s from South Africa, the Maori from New Zealand, Healers from the Philippines, and even learned throat singing from Huun Huur Tu from Tuva!
You can often find me, leading a shamanic journey at the Shamanic Sound Circle, playing Native American Flute, Teaching classes on the Tarot & sharing with the community by the teachings full day shamanic workshops.
I have received certifications in both energy healing & some forms of traditional Native Bodywork. My work as Shamanic Practitioner & Sound Healer is integrative, drawing upon both the traditions of Rootwork learned from my family & the techniques and methods learned alongside many traditional healers.
